The site was created in response to the increasing quantity of bad quality cannabis that is being sold by street dealers and unregulated cannabis dispensaries.

The aim of shitweed.org is to provide a forum where the community may share information relating to the processes, contaminants and techniques used by dealers and dispensaries to defraud cannabis consumers, and to provide information about how the quality of cannabis can be assessed at home.
